    Stag Handled Dirk

Finished the first of three dirks I am making. This one is a combo of a few different eras of dirks. The haunches are cocobolo wood with a water buffalo spacer and a mule deer stag crown. The crown has a lot of charactor to it I thought. It is made of 1095 tool steel and 16 1/2" overall. I plan to make a tooled brown sheath for it. I managed to grab hold of the tang when it was still really really hot. I said a few word that made the dog blush and walked around for an hour holding on to a ice cube with the two fingers I burned.

    Hey, that is NICE!!

The antler would, I s'pose, make it a "day wear" dirk for those who care about such things; but I'd wear it anywhere and anytime I dang well pleased. Good work there!

I dig the sheath. Was the design stamped or carved?
