Colin,
Lookin' good, my friend. I agree, the pleating is a bit white. However, I still like it. I received several nice compliments on the NWI design. You did a great job coming up with this!!!
I was disappointed, though with the construction...the inner apron is too short and the outer one is a bit, also. The 36" size is what I normally take, but I had to actually add some holes on the straps to get it to fit tight with a t-shirt. I think, Colin, you received the 36" also, as Mark said he had no 34's at this time. I hope the new one will fit you better, and will have nicer pleating...possibly to the orange line!??? Here's a pic of me:

Yes, I'd say overall construction is acceptable but not amazing. It is a frugal price point, so I'm not too surprised really This kilt will probably get a lot of use around the house and perhaps at the pub though! I really like the idea of having a less expensive kilt around so I can keep my wool ones clean and ready for dressier events.
I've also got the 36", which is still too big even with an extra set of holes on the straps and a thick woolen shirt. Apparently the ol' student budget has caused me to inadvertently be on a bit of a diet... I measured my waist and I'm an inch smaller than the last time I checked.
Regardless, I look forward to getting a NWI kilt in a better size and probably to the orange stripe, though no stripe would look good too, no?

Colin, you'll have to post pics when you get the new NWI.
I agree, this kilt will be nice as a pub kilt, or for just kickin' around. I, too, prefer to keep my good wool kilts for dressier occasions.
Now, wouldn't this tartan look awesome in a 16 oz., 8 yd. wool tank?? Oh, and pleated to either the sett or orange line.

Great to see the tartan pleated, but I also would prefer to see the pleating showing less white.
At any rate, the Irish are acquiring quite a range to choose from.
I notice that the two kilts shown on this thread are in Irish National and New World Irish.
I rather like the look of All Ireland Red, All Ireland Blue and All Ireland Green.
Anybody have kilts in these tartans?
(Not being Irish, I will probably have to forego wearing those, but perhaps my ship will come in . . .)
Regards,
Mike

It's nice... I think it would look best pleated to sett but I don't suppose that's an option. Nice work on the tartan too.
