Wonderful images Richard, thanks for sharing. I realize that we have discussed this topic in length already, however, I do wear a day plaid at functions such as Highland games - strictly for day wear. I have a matching plaid to all of my kilts in the 16 ounce strome, by Lochcarron - all have a purled fringe - straight fringe, such as in fly plaids, do not look good for a day plaid, one must have the longer, purled fringe. Essentially, my plaids are just like a piper's plaid, without the pleats. I fold mine in half, then double it over, then it is ready to be thrown over my left shoulder with the fringe hanging in the front. The look quite smart with my cromach.
