    I agree with the suggestion to have the picture restored, especially if the restorers could take that scratch off the face.


    This is going to sound nit-picky, but I don't think your grandfather is actually playing the 'pipes in the picture. It looks more like he's just holding them for the shot. I bet someone told him, "Those things are too loud to play in here. Just hold 'em and keep 'em quiet."

    I am pretty sure he was just posing, but knowing my grandpa and what my mother and grandmother have said, he did play in the house quite a bit. He wasn't an a$$, he just did it for fun.
