I think that's when we're going as well. I'll be sure to get back on here and find you so we can lift a pint.

Just check by the Circa Paleo stage... that's how everyone kept finding me last year!

    Oh.

I was going to suggest leather kilt, latex shirt, alien blaster, and a pirate hat just to cover all the bases...but since you're going to be a party pooper ...

One of those lace-up pirate shirt things with the poofy arms would work. Also gonna need a drinking implement tied to the waist by a piece of leather, and a HUUUUGE belt.

Throw in some calf or knee high leather moccasin-type boots, stick a knife down one of them (and/or a fork or spoon, just for grins), and pick up a gray or green surplus wool army blanket to use as a cloak, and you should be good to go.

Ren Faires are an exercise in creative anachronism, personally I wouldn't sweat it too much. You could wear your kilt, scrunched socks and Red Wings with an Iron Maiden t-shirt, and you'd be just fine.

    Hey neighbor!

I quite agree. Unless I were putting on a show or selling very period specific attire, I have little interest in being the correctly dressed guy there. Hell, even all the merchants sell their own versions and adaptations of medieval/warrior/sexy warrior type things. It's just a fun day of kilting, drinking, and wenches abound.. not a history lesson.
