Glad to see that you're still out and about...have to admit that I do think of you and hope that all is goin' well whenever I pass one of the several knitting shops that we have here...anyone who's looked at your blog knows that you seem to have a very serious relationship with yarn (I won't go as far as obsession ) so you naturally come to mind when I see skads of the stuff.
Best

I have a question, where is a good place to get a nice but inexpensive wool driving cap (flat cap etc...) There has been some christmas hinting going on from my young man.

Hello String. Good to see you are still digging in the books. Working on a paper? Remember: No fractional sentences, cross your Ts, dot your Is, and don't use any exclamation points. IOW, don't do as I do.

The thing about grad school is that it is never just one paper, and the nice thing about computers is that the there is no dotting and crossing

Glad to see you are still with us.I just finished a cosy waistcoat in time for the cold weather, ten strands of really fine yarn hand knitted on big needles - big for me anyway, and now I am working on my fine gauge knitting machine with a single strand of fine yarn - 77rows to 4 inches.Such infinite variety.I used to knit and read - it semed to help the memory - I can still remember what I was reading when I was making some of the jerseys I still have - so when I pick up my dark blue with flecks jersey I think about polyps, medusae and jellyfish. Not bad after 40 years....Anne the Pleater - BSc
