Why not ask the person in the company who wrote those words what they meant by them?
Ol' Macdonald himself, a proud son of Skye and Cape Breton Island
Lifetime Member STA. Two time winner of Utilikiltarian of the Month. "I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
Yes Ron thanks for pointing out the logical response...I will do that tomorrow. My line of thinking so far is to dress more up than down. Like Tobus and nighthawk said, better to be overdressed than under....
Thanks for all the responses.
Oh the party is at a upscale resturant/bar/hotel, at night of course
So regardless of what I wear I will have pictures, cuz it didn't happen if you didn't have pictures....
Company dress policies are to set a 'minimum' level of acceptable attire. I've never heard of a policy saying "suits are not appropriat attire" (accept where they are, of course... warehouse, construction, where uniform is required, etc.)
Our company (California companies are very concerned about sexual harassment and hostile environment lawsuits) is very specific about what can be worn by whom, and when. But those are always minimums. You are always allowed to dress nicer than the stipulated code.
