eBay Kilt buyer
I was waiting for my kilt to arrive before replying to this thread. I am the one who purchased the Ross Modern which was listed as "buy it now" for US$222 I did research of the Company, read prior reviews, and even talked to some customers. I was hesitant to pull the trigger because the price was too low.
I have a 25 year old Geoffrey (tailor) kilt I picked up on a trip to Scotland in the 80's. Back then it cost $350. Its been a great kilt, both in looks and quality, but now it fits around one leg only. My kilt arrived yesterday from Peter Reid at Tartanweb in Glasgow. The quality, weight, and construction rival that of the Geoffrey kilt. It is a machine made kilt, but I still don't know how it was so affordable. Mr. Reid is the (new) sales manager, and was a pleasure to deal with on the telephone and email, keeping me informed all the way. From order to door took literally 33 days. Kilt flashes were included in the price as well. I ordered a few extra bits (that fit me now) and am very pleased with the whole process.
If anyone would like further info on my experience, please PM me. I will definitely order again from this company.
