    Sgian "Brews"

Here are two Sgian "Brews" I recently put together from some antler that a friend of mine had no use for. A special thanks to Panache for providing some examples of such pieces, and being kind enough to dialogue with me as I planned on putting these together. As a side note, is anyone interested in making a trade for some pieces like this. I honestly enjoy making them, and will soon be up to my ears in these and kilt pins if I don't start to share.

I'd trade a Balmoral for a couple of them. We could talk colors. If you check out my photos you will see a blue one but I have improved the design a little and can offer in assorted colors.

I'm looking for any kilt related attire. Pins, hose, pretty much anything. I have some wood and antler pins that I have for trade as well as knitted flashes. Thanks for all the compliments! Just let me know what you have or are good at making.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer in trade; but that can't stop me from complimenting you on your workmanship.

I really like the look of antler handle sticking up from kilt hose and I am patiently waiting for a sgian dubh that I traded some antler for almost a year ago.

Making a sheath for your sgian brews looks like it could be an interesting project... after all, you don't want them snagging the inside of your hose.

Those Guiness commercials from a few years ago spring to mind where the scientist yells "BRILLIANT!!"

I have nothing to offer in trade, but thanks for the idea. I have a boot knife with a completely broken-off blade and just found a use for it!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Thanks to everyone for your interest. I'm a bit surprised at the response for these little things, and have already run out! I will by making more though and will post images of them and some new kilt pins sometime after Christmas. In the meantime I hope you manage to find other ways to get your brews open and keep your kilts closed!
