Bro, that is one cruel surprise to bust out on a guy early the day! Now I'm going to be hungry for Indian food all weekend. I sure DO wish this computer had smell-o-vision.

One of my favorite Indian cookbooks is THIS.

Although, should anyone be shopping for a new cookbook, beware. This one tends to assume some basic knowledge of eastern cooking. As you can see from the reviews, some people love the book, a few really HATE it.

I've given several copies to other Indian food lovers as gifts over the past few years, and mine is well thumbed, with stickies for adjustments I've made to dishes (and a few rogue curry splashes on the covers )

I haven't had much exposure to Indian cuisine and am always looking for a good place to start sampling things to expand my culinary horizons.

I am a firm believer in World Peace Through Food...if we're all busy cooking for each other and turning each other on to our favorite things, I figger that we'll be too busy to fight over much else. I often say that to be a world class culture, you have to develop a world class cuisine.

I feel the same way about beer...imagine a World Homebrew Festival held on the scale of the Olympics! I hereby volunteer to be one of the judges.

"Tis the holidays and we all, I hope, have some of that good ol' home cooking to look forward to, Thanks for sharing yours.

I think I'll produce a pan of curried veg tonight, with lots of mushrooms and almond milk to make it creamy.
