I vote for continuing the Saltire's travels. I have very much enjoyed reading the accounts of places she's been and seeing the pictures, too.

Thanks, Cap'n, for starting this journey a long time ago.

I'm sure there are a lot of places she hasn't been yet...has she been to Vancouver BC? By now a refit is in order I'm sure, but a cruise up the Pacific Coast could provide some interesting backdrops.

Glad to see she made it home.

I certainly hope she continues her Flights of Friendship. We missed her this year by "just that much" for the Balloon Fiesta.

X-marks continues to grow and attract members world wide. Perhaps she can venture to the land of Oz, or South Africa. Buneos Aries, Rio de Janeiro or even the Holy Land are are places the good ship could be dispatched to!

A refit, a little R &R in the Bay area and then off for different skies?

    Cheers!

If she does fly up the Pacific Coast sometime again, I wouldn't mind a brief layover in Bellingham / Whatcom County

I am most grateful for having been the first to carry the great ship on its way. I would beg that she continue as she has, spreading friendship far and wide, uniting our kilted community. Aye, there have been changes, some good and some not so. The ideals that began the wee ships journey and those that keep her on the move are what we are about.

Use the log books to map where she's been so far - look for any gaps in worldwide coverage and send her off to fill in the blanks until she's a true world traveler.

    Jamie,

Thank you for starting XMTSAS Saltire on her journey. I enjoyed hosting her here in Colorado and hope that she can make it back again to visit some of the other high elevation areas.

Great idea, Ron. Keep her flying, maybe with a minor refit or two. I don't remember that she headed across the Pacific yet. And, of course, there are many areas, both here in North America and Europe, that she hasn't been too yet.

Jamie, I whole heartily agree that the grand airship should after a brief refueling stop continue onward with her journey. There are many places yet to visit, friendships to form, and logbook entries to record. Should the wee ship make it's way to my home port I'd be happy to post my accounts of her visit here for all to see.

Gathering dust and rust in a forgotten hangar? Posh! The Saltire must fly again, Sir!

If the original journal is full, my wife has volunteered to make a new leather-bound journal to log future flights. The Saltire has not yet experienced the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, among other wonders of the eastern coast.

And I add my thanks to the others who have already sent theirs. The Saltire was an inspired idea. Good show, Jamie.

I have to concur with others here. A ship (even an airship) is at its best when underway.

Of course, all ships retire at some point, and that is ultimately your call to make. But, because she is such a familiar symbol, if the original never voyages out again I suggest the name(and mission) be carried on by a new ship of upgraded design. The XMTSAS Saltire II? Maybe...that is also your call.

    Just my $.02 USD.
