nOOb gets first kilt
So I just got my first kilt today. A heavyweght wool from Jerry at Stillwater.
Jerry warned me that Canada Post and Canadian Customs are the worst, and they are! But I did get my kilt and I am very happy with it!
Jerry even threw in a pair of free matching tartan flashes!!
The first thing I noticed after reading the instructions was that the kilt felt heavy. I opened it up, put it on and it is a perfect fit (although I might get a half inch hemmed off the bottom).
It is a little tight when I sit down, but that is my fault as I seem to get a little beer gut when I sit.
Now that I find wearing a kilt comfortable, its time for some accessories!!

Congrats.
I'm glad to hear of someone not getting headaches from dealing with customs! I've read stories on here that make it sound like nothing gets shipped to Canada without delays and fees being imposed. I know not everyone has issues with international shipment, but people rarely comment about it unless they do.
Don't sweat the tightening feeling when sitting. I have gotten a little soft in the middle since summer so it gets me too. I just make sure to sit up straight like Grandma always told me to, and suck in the belly. A kilt can do wonders for posture...and help motivate one to maintain himself!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Hello Presidential,
Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the Atlantic in Norfolk, England. Don't feel you have to rush the accessories. Work out what you actually need - then by quality.

Congrats on the new kilt! Like with anything else around here, pictures help prove it!

Rather than hem the bottom, you might want to consider wearing it a bit higher. Military kilts come right up to the rib cage.
