Skye Highland Outfitters Crofter Hair Sporran Review and Pictures.
I received a package today, and have been waiting all day to get home from work to see what is inside.
Here is the package just waiting to be opened.
And here is what was inside.
All wrapped up it didn't look like much, but once I unwrapped it, this is what I saw.
Man, this sporran is awesome. The craftsmanship is second to none, the stitching alone must have taken forever. Here is a pic of the cantle to illustrate the stitching detail.
The hair has been sewn in 5 different layers, and the layers have been separately glued as well, to prevent loosing hair over time.
The detail involved in every element is amazing, here is the back belt loop, there is a small knot work design embossed on the "axe head" loop.
The quality is shown here, you can see the care taken to make sure everything has been finished cleanly. Here you can see the perfect seam where the gusset has been attached to the back of the sporran.
The other thing I noticed which is different from other horse hair sporrans I have seen is how full the hair is, and how much has been sewn on. Here you can see how it looks splayed out on the table.
Here is a good picture of the whole sporran from the front showing it's unique pointed finish. The middle tassel has been lowered to accentuate the shape.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my new sporran, Josh is a master of his trade. I would definitely recommend a SHO sporran to anyone who is looking for something unique that will last for generations to come. Mine has made a very welcome, and fitting addition to my collection.
I hope to post some pictures of myself actually wearing my new sporran in the near future. But, until then I hope that everyone will find this post informative, and spreads appreciation for quality handmade products. May everyone have an excellent Holiday, and a happy and prosperous New Year.

Thank you sir, I expect that I will get to wear it for my band's Burns Supper in January, after the performance of course.

Congratulations on a fine aquisition. In the not too distant past I received a John Brown goat hair sporran from Josh and I have to agree that the workmanship is of a very impressive standard. Wear and enjoy
