A Couple of Evenings out in New Mexico

Last week my wife and I along with two other couples went to the River of Lights at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens and the Christmas tree lighting in Old Town, Albuquerque. We had a wonderful time, both evenings. The crowds were large and all of the families were enjoying themselves.

I received many of the typical comments that a lot of us receive, except not a single comment about a skirt. Everyone who spoke to me, regardless of what they actually said, was pleasant and only wanted to make conversation. I also received a number of compliments.

There aren’t any photos of me at the gardens or the tree lighting but there are some at our friends’ home, taken prior to leaving for the River of Lights.

Thanks for that! I grew up in Las Cruces, and the Pecos Valley...haven't seen luminarias in years...get a little homesick...and all these easterners seem to think chile verde involves tomatillo! Yuck! Feliz Navidades!

Your gear is smart! Very nice.

I'm new to the kilt and am putting together the correct kit for formal wear.

I grew up in Chama. I sometimes miss it, too.

Looks like some great displays to assist in getting in the spirit. Of course I find that any occasion to wear a kilt gets me in a joyous spirit.
