Whisky for Christmas
If your friends and family are like mine the chances are good that you received a bottle or two (or even more, I won't hold it against you if you got more) as Christmas gifts.
Here's a place to let us know what was in your stocking on Christmas morning.
I'll start. I got a Glenlivet 12 yo from the neighbours across the street and The Balvenie 15 yo from a buddy. Both fine.
My sister was in the UK on business and she brought back the highlight of my haul:
McGibbons' Provenance. Distilled at Macallan, Autumn Distillation, 12 yo, single cask to bottle, Cask #6191.

A bottle of Glenlivet from my department director, and one of Highland Park 12 from my secretary and my practice manager (along with a taster bottle of 18 yr old), all of whom work under my direction to one degree or another. But I got two great books from the Wife, a custom printed version of Michael Jackson's (not the one white glove Michael Jackson) Complete Guide to Single Malt Scotch, and Dave Broom's World Atlas of Whisky. If I succeed in making use of them all together at hte same time I can truly say that I got smarter while drinking scotch whisky.

I gave my dad a bottle of Tomatin 12 year old - darn good single malt for under $30.00 a pop! My wife got me some Bushmills, one of the "standards" I always keep on hand (yep, I do love the Irish whiskey, boyos!)....

I'm afraid my family and friends aren't quite so tuned in to my tastes... Although my best friend got me a fine bottle of Talisker for my B-day/Christmas LAST year. It didn't last very long.

I got a bottle of Johnnie Walker and Markers Mark from coworkers. I am sad to say the MM did not make it through the holidays, however JW was hidden from the relatives and is still in fine condition
