Wonderful pictures! I have to say the shot from your window is jaw-dropping... I'm quite envious at the moment.

    Smile Just Lovely...

I love your Yule Log tradition (always wondered about that...)- all very "Auld World." Your kit is very smart, too.

Is the shrimp feast another auld world tradition? My wife's family always had boiled shrimp at Christmas, as we did this year, too. Guid stuff!

Thanks for sharing! And Merry Christmas.

Robert, thanks for sharing your photos with us. It appears that you did indeed have a very nice feast, those prawns look huge!

I've of course heard of a yule log, but am totally unfamiliar with the traditions surrounding it. Could you explain a little of it? I gather the items placed on it have some significance, but what about the decorations? Are the wine, bread and salt actually placed on the log, or meerly passed over it? Thanks for you insights into this custom.

Has the ocean risen so much that now they have prawns in the Alps?

Beautiful pictures, as always. I hope your family have a very happy New Year.

The yule log tradition is great.
I too am envious of your view.
Thanks for sharing your family Christmas celebration.
