    The Snowman

I was watching this little Christmas movie with my siblings this evening and during one scene a large group of snowmen are dancing. This year I finally noticed that one of them is wearing a kilt and a glengarry hat. He even does a wee bit of highland dancing!

It is actually called The Snowman. It was also a children's book. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084701/

My wife brought with her from her family the tradition of watching The Snowman every Christmas day. Wonderful little film. It is the only case I know of where the film surpasses the book, even if it is a kids' book.

A great little book and film. Kilted fellow was British cultural content- and I ask you, where else in the UK can produce more snowmen? Well, except for this year....

I was lucky enough to be gifted with a copy on DVD this year for Christmas. It ranks among my favorite movies of all time. I think it was my grandmother who first got us to watch it and every year after the first snowfall, or at least after the first fall that actually sticks around, my family digs out our copy and watches it regularly until Christmas. Maybe this year I'll try to build a snowman like that.

Its is more than a while since seeing the film but I seem to recall the Forth rail bridge and Eilean Donan Castle star briefly too. A good but slightly haunting song goes with it.
