Just ordered my first kilt!
I just ordered my first kilt from our own Matt Newsome! It's his specialty - 4-yard box-pleated kilt in the Michigan Up North tartan (now the official state of Michigan tartan), along with his, in my opinion, very elegant half-belted plaid. Let the countdown begin!

Excellent! Matt will take good care of you. I've purchased many top-quality items from the STM.

The wait will seem like forever, but it's all worth it. I have three Newsomes, and each one is a work of art. Welcome to the club!

Newsome is great, but the wait does seem like forever (for any kilt, not just by Matt).
Welcome to the jonesing!

Thanks for the shared enthusiasm everybody! Yeah, the wait is going to be unbearable. I'm hoping that slowly putting together the rest of my outfit in the meantime might help to assuage the anticipation a bit.
@xman - Thanks! Yeah, we got really lucky that we have such a nice tartan for our state, and it was designed by somebody from the northern portion of the lower peninsula, so while not quite the U.P., I still feel like it's a bit more representative for me.

Congratulations! I like the Michigan Up North tartan as well. I would like a kilt in that tartan someday too. Definitely don't forget the pictures when it arrives.

As this is your first kilt, are you getting any accessories (hose, sporran, etc)?

Yes indeed, sir! I'm having a Ferguson Britt sporran in wolverine fur made for me. I intend on getting a pair of Mr. Newsome's royal cuff hose, probably the Celtic knot design. I'm thinking of an Argyle jacket from the STM in the gamekeeper Ettrick tweed. I have my mind set on all the other accoutrements as well, if you care to know.
