Just watched Jane Campion's great film The Piano, for the 3rd or 4th time (though it's been a while). There is a kilted gardener/groundsman in the opening scenes of the film.

The film of course is about a young Scottish woman (mother) who is married off to a New Zealand landowner. Set in the pioneering days of mid 19th century, precisely when, and in the same area my own family settled and developed.

Not really worth seeing if you only want to see the kilt, but the film itself really is a gem. (3 Oscars and the Palme d'Or)!

Cheers,

Michael
