It amazes me as to what is deemed "inflammatory" and what makes it through with no problem. It seems objectivity comes at a premium with a few here, while others are true blues.

Well, objectivity requires taking subjectivity into account.

This will probably get me banned, but here goes. The reason my charity auction wasn't allowed boils down to money. I am not a paying advertiser here. the Scottish Tartans museum is a paying advertiser. they can run an auction to benefit that entity for that very reason. Again, I didn't expect to be allowed to. I didn't figure it would hurt to ask though. I was NOT expecting to have my integrity disparaged in the manner it was, though. I figured that they were bigger than that. I still think I deserve an apology. But, most likely I will be banned from this forum.

If someone has a beef with the action of the Moderator team or indeed an individual Moderator the correct procedure is to try and resolve it with them privately.

That would be the gentlemanly way as per guiding principles #1 and #2.

I have not yet seen the contested material myself but here I read complaint and criticism that is insulting and unproven.

Bringing expressions of disagreement or disappointment to the public forum especially when not all Moderators will have had time to see and discuss it in in the first place is Trollish and I am closing this thread under Rule #2 until further notice.

I am saddened and disappointed at this series of posts this morning.


When Donnie's request to post his private auction for Australian flood relief came to Brian he referred it to me.


The decision to deny that request was mine, not Brian's. The responsibility lies with me.


Our Rule #10 is quite clear. “– The use of this forum for the seeking or solicitation of funds or donations or seeking professional legal, medical or spiritual advice is inappropriate. This includes any request or solicitation for sponsorship or support where funds would be requested.”


Everyone needs to understand that all Brian was doing was relaying my decision on to Donnie.
