Now for the important questions:
1. do they serve Guinness in Hell?
2. which XMTS'er is buying the first round?

The thing that guys like that (the anti-kilt guy) don't realize is that not everyone can be reached by "fire and brimstone".
I doubt his intention is to 'reach' anybody. He's just a nutjob who thinks he knows God's Will, and gets off on telling everyone else that they're going to hell. It's likely a chemical/mental disorder that causes people like this to do what they do for the enjoyment of making others miserable.
Please, folks, don't take him seriously. That's what he wants more than anything in the world.

1 Corinthians 13
1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
The above does not excuse that Mr. Stewart is very uneducated on the subject as well.

I don't know how great it is... I was actually afraid I'd upset people with it! But I've never let that dictate to me how I behave. It's Martin Luther. He seemed to make a lot of people rather mad, and I thought it appropriate to the conversation. I actually found it doing a research for a presentation I'm giving on Saturday.

No no- http://www.dividedbytruth.org/BTP/ld...tbatb_main.htm It's a sin! He said so! (I was totally joking- no need to take issue with me!)

Wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and whoever is deceived by them is not wise.
My grandad won a prize for an essay on the quotation when he was a boy - some time before 1900. I don't think he won many prizes, so he made sure his grandchildren knew about it.
Hmmm - porter doesn't seem to get a mention, you might be OK with the Guinness after all.
Is Hell actually mentioned in the bible, or is it something the church thought up? I tend to just remember the good bits these days.
It is a sad thing to find that someone has read the bible to look for verses to prop up an opinion they hold, even if the verses have to be 'interpreted' in order to be useful to their cause.
I rather suspect that future generations, if told of the anti kilting opinion of whatever his name is, might smile kindly and ask if we'd like our pillows plumped up.

Ahh, so you've heard about the Englishman who went to Scotland and walked into a clothing shop and asked for "One of those funny dresses the men wear" ... Well he was kilt.

We can all laugh at ourselves, too, I hope.
