Looks OK to me, why not?
I'd tuck the shirt in though. I know it's casual, and I wear a t-shirt with the kilt a lot, but maybe it's just me, I feel like t-shirts hanging out make the kilt look a little "skirt-y" if you will. Then again, I'll almost never have a shirt-tail out, I tuck t-shirts into jeans as well.

In my opinion quite acceptable as casual wear. I have a pair of boots that are very similar for such use.

I cannot object to this. That's the way I often wear my kilts, too.

Looks fine to me. Those boots look really similar to the ones I usually wear with everything. (Bates tactical boots, with the zip up sides)

I think you're being way too critical of yourself! You're built fairly stocky and powerful... like the proverbial brick s**t-house. There's no hiding that, and it's actually a better 'look' for a kilted man than being a skinny stick (my opinion). What you want to do is accentuate your shape to look strong. And between your pics of the shirt tucked and untucked, my personal opinion is that tucked accentuates it better. When it's untucked, you look softer and sort of "formless" around the middle.
I hope none of that sounds critical. It wasn't meant to be. You look good either way. I just think you look better with it tucked in.
