    That's the way you do it.
    I have seen 3 of them and they have all been repaired. The spring steel at the bottom of the knob tends to seperate from it. I have seen 2 repaired using silver solder and 1 repaired by the bottom of the knob being drilled, tapped and a screw used to attached the spring steel.
