    Here Here!

Our rather narrow focus aside the film looks gorgeous.

There is a story that Erich von Stoheim commissioned the costume department at the studio where he was directing a film to make silk underwear for all of the extras in a sequence who were playing Prussian Cavalry officers.

Studio head goes ballistic! Wants to know why he's footing the bill for this expensive underwear that NO ONE WILL SEE in the movie.

Von Stroheim is incredulous! How can he ask these actors to portray Prussian Cavalry officers when they aren't wearing Prussian Cavalry officer underwear!

Any of you who have worked in the theatre know the expression, "suspend disbelief". Just enjoy the movie and stop noticing that Julius Caesar is wearing a wrist watch while he's getting stabbed in the Senate, okay?

    Balmoral tartan

An undated picture of Prince Charles and Camilla both wearing Balmoral tartan:

"Charles and wife Camilla attended a Balmoral church wearing matching Balmoral tartan kilts.

A rather nice picture from an unflattering collection.

Great photo, and note the straight-cut waistcoat that so many have commented on in Prince Charles' wardrobe.

"Niece Diana". Can anyone tell me who that is?

HM The Queen Mother had 14 nieces...just on her side of the family. Diana, born in 1923, died in 1986. She was the fourth daughter of the Queen Mother's brother John ( called Jock ) and his wife Fenella.

PS: her full name was Diana Cinderella Mildred Bowes-Lyon.

I have just spoken to John MacNab from Albion Kilts in London who made all the kilts for the film "The Queen" He said that he was unable to get the Balmoral tartan for that film.
He was also approached by the makers of " The King's Speech " again asking for the Balmoral Tartan but replied that it was unobtainable as it was a restricted tartan.

I am not in the least bit suprised about that.
