You have it basically correct four yards of double is sewn together to make eight yards of material for a traditionally styled knife pleat kilt. Only four total yards (two double width) is needed for a box pleat.

I've already got a few ideas in this department...

The current plan is to receive the order into the US and break it for re-shipping. Right now the bulk of our U-Misk alum appear to be in the US.
So we'd each basically pay a small fraction of the major postage/possible duty and then the actual shipping cost to YOU.

Could be in for four yds double width, depending on final price figures.

Make that nine yards double-width: four for a modern knife-pleated kilt, and five for a great kilt.

Wow sounds like quite the project.
You definitely have enough for the minimum DW order of 16 yards.
I can't join you guys but it sounds like this thing is really taking off. I'd almost recommend ordering a few kilt lengths more than people have spoken for since there could be latecomers.

Delightful idea! I'd be interested in a kilt's-worth, depending upon the selected weight and cost.

I still haven't heard back from Dalgliesh, but here's a roll-call of what people are interested in (price dependent, obviously)
In 16oz double width (so it's actually x2 this amount in total yardage):
Me - 2.5
Dale Seago - 9
Drac - 5
Kiltboy - 5
Zardoz - 4
CDNSushi - 2
EldarKinSlayer - 4
Mark.Priest - 1.5
Downix - 1
g koch - 2
Sydnie7 - 4
So right now that puts us at 40yds, double width.
There are a few people who expressed interest but didn't give yardage, etc. Llwyd, Jordan, Rachane - hopefully I'll hear back from Dalgliesh in the next few days... If not I'll email them again.

Again, price dependent, I may be looking at 4 or 8 yards double, or 8 or 16 single (depending on if I want to make 1 or 2 kilts)
*EDIT*
I think I'm gonna lean more towards the 4 yards double, than the other quantities. I think I'm gonna stick with one kilt from it for now.

Sorry I didn't specify.
I'd like 2 of the double width yards (4 single width).
