30th West Point Tattoo
Kilted Rabble,
17 APR 11 is the date! This is also the weekend of the annual Sandhurst Comptition with teams from all over the world competing in military skills events if that also draws you!
The list of bands is not yet final and the massed bands set list will come out as soon as our pipe major gives it to me.
Individual pipers and drummers are welcome to join in the massed bands (some time around 1800), we will form you into a mixed band for the big show.
Below is the link to the band's facebook page, its a good spot for older photos and information about this and other events.

There is no fee to get on post or to watch. Concessions will be sold as well as event T-shirts.
The rain date is the following sunday.
Any Questions or whatnot are welcome.

So, you were looking for advice on cold weather dress earlier? What decisions were made there? Was there a mass purchase of pantyhose or what?

A number of sugestions were gathered and given to the band, no pantyhose were ordered however. The wiser members of the band wore compression shorts and rolled up long johns under the kilt, the more idealistic soon became the more....well....i shall let the mind run free....
Short overcoats were worn. Photos can be seen on the band's facebook page

Longjohns are the way to go, if less colourful than the suggested alternative. Can't access FB but I've learned to live with the pain of that. Sure you can go commando anyway, by April I mean.
Anyway, I've always wanted to visit the USMA but 9-11 happened before I got to it. Now they drive you around sealed inside a bus. With the windows welded shut.

Well then Tattoo would be a great thing to come to as the post is open that day. All you need is a valid ID and you're good to come on post and see the show!

If I'm in the area that day I'll drop by! - but when they see Canadian ID at the front gate they seem to mutter about "frozen Binladens" and aren't impressed. (joke).

It's funny -- I was wondering why the Tattoo was scheduled for Palm Sunday, with a raindate of Easter Sunday. Any ideas?

The cadet training schedule does not prermit much in terms of variety of dates. Those are literaly the only weekends we could get Trophy Point.
