Thankyou all for all your tributes to Ann.
She received a fitting send off yesterday, a church service in Hawick attended by around 50 of her friends, at the end the organist struck up Robert Burns' "Ae fond kiss and then we sever" as her coffin was carried out of church.
Then to Glasgow for a committal to cremation, attended by 17 of her family and friends, her ashes will be scattered in the Garden of Remembrance at the Lynn Crematorium in Glasgow where her parents' ashes were scattered. There is a Memorial Bench there in name of her parents and I will have a new plaque made to add Ann's name below theirs.
Finally I treated those who came to the crematorium to a buffet lunch in a nearby hotel.
I wore Ann's tartan throughout, the 8-yard kilt in McConnell tartan which was the final present which she bought me last year.
