Thanks, I'm sorry if I seemed a bit snippish in my reply... I did my usual wake up, grab iPhone, check online stuff (I have to do that often or I'll be overwhelmed and never get caught up ), and I was a little knocked off guard as well. Actually, I can understand that disappointment as History Channel keeps adding more reality shows that have little or nothing to do with history and getting rid of the history shows
One of the other reasons I like the show -- this may sound silly.... I've always been obsessed with museums and even office buildings/big hotels/etc at night. Not sure where I picked that up, but I think it would be so awesome to be able to wander around a museum by yourself at night. Not only do I love to see the museums/historic locations (including some households that were built way back in ___ and the owners did little to modernize it, as I enjoy shows like House Hunters to get glimpses of home styles I may like), it's so cool to see what a museum is like in a less than normal viewing. Most TV shows who cover say, an old fort will just have certain shots and walk-throughs, yet GH's shows will sit on the floor, wander around... it adds an interesting angle to it. Silly huh?

Although, if it were me...unless it was Blackwatch, I'd never be able to identify the tartan.
Ok...MAYBE I'd recognize MY kilt. But then again, I would probably have noticed it missing from my closet as well
I'm not good at noticing tartans either, and he may (I think his name is Paul Bradford? I can't remember as I'm not as familiar with him) have even said the tartan but I was jumping up fast and telling my hubby I'd be right back so I could post quickly in case anyone else wanted to check out the episode.
One of the other members (female) was wearing a tartan scarf around her neck, but I don't think she said what it was and I saw even less of it.
I ended up missing most of the segment so I could email a friend about something, and I took too long. I'd been wondering how he would fare, doing the usual sort of things these guys do. I did see him squatting in a cell (I think it was a cell) with the kilt and I half expected him to step on the back hem, but I don't think he did. Wish I'd seen more (how silly of me to post this thread and then end up missing most of the segment... typical of me with how often I jump on and offline, and I didn't even have my laptop in the same room at the time)... for all I know someone asked him about the kilt/tartan, but I can't say for sure.

First off, the comment wasn't directed at you as an insult, just a comparison of something you enjoy but I don't. Not meant to be negative in any way or a dig or insulting. I have plenty of friends who adore ren faires and go frequently and I don't judge them for it. Likewise, I really enjoy plenty of things they find annoying/trite/stuffy and would never do. (Such as Larping or historical re-enactment.) I actually don't tend to enjoy shows like that since I find them very false, but if they are in a location I like I will watch them to find out a bit more about it.
I am sorry if my comment came across as an insult. It was genuinely meant as a simple comparison.
As for you feeling that I show a continued lack of neutrality; Please, go ahead and bring it up with the other Mods and Steve. I will not be angry or insulted. If I had known you felt that way or if you had contacted me previously then perhaps we could have dealt with it at an earlier date.
I try hard to make a note of 'taking off the mod hat' whenever I am doing something that is strictly my opinion and of dealing with moderator issues in as impartial and objective a way as I possibly can.
However, unless it's brought up with me as it happens I'll never know that I'm coming across that way and can never learn/change my communication style etc. (Like just now.)

Yay! I know I can't be the only one, but it's just such a strange obsession of mine that I've never figured out when or where I picked it up. I think I'd literally be like a kid in a candy or toy store if someone gave me the freedom to run around someplace awesome like a museum or historical site at night.
Then again, some of my best birthdays and dates were when my hubby took me to a science museum or historical site, so I'm guessing I'm just a fan regardless

it wasn't the black watch, I'm not sure what tartan it was. But I was that Kris was wearing a tartan scarf as well.

You may like this site: http://www.infiltration.org/
...for information purposes only. It is nothing bad. It just talks about how people go to off limits to the public places. There are some really interesting "behind the scenes" type locations.
