Quite right, I agree! I consider myself a foreigner when I am in Scotland, even though I am Scottish, my family is Scottish - specifically from the Highlands - and am a part of a great Highland clan. I was born in America, therefore, I am indeed a foreigner when I come home, to my "true" home in Badenoch - the land of my forefathers. I hope we all don't get too off topic on this thread.

Cheers Jack! Oh that's splendid with regards to the pipe band - it is quite a handsome tartan - the most popular, and one of the oldest setts in the Clan Macpherson.

The countries where I was born, raised, live in, a citizen of, and owe heritage to, are all different. I am a foreigner (or at home) everywhere, so it is all relative.

Sir,I hope to see you there someday. I have a trip to Newtonmore in the planning stages and it would be wonderful to be there during the annual Macpherson gathering. What are the dates for the next one? Thank you for the wonderful photos. I suppose I could look in the Urlar when I get home from work for the dates!

Aye,
I also feel like I'm going home even though I was born American. Over there, I don't have to spell or pronounce my name like I do most of the time in my own born country.
