    Lazerus Long, Kilted

Just noticed that the paperback edition of Robert Heinlein's "Time Enough for Love" shows the main character, Lazerus Long, kilted. He does wear kilts occasionally in the various novels he appears in.

I will join as well, loved Heinlein growing up. Have to say I always thought he lost it a bit in his latter novels but they were still a pleasure to read. A master of his craft.

Man, I read everything that man ever wrote that I could dig up when I was kid! Awesome writer and really a smart man!

I totally forgot about the Lazarus Long kilt thing. Makes me think that the kilt idea has been buried in my subconscious for a long time!!

Trying to remember if his blaster was strapped inside or outside the kilt. Love the Lazarus Long character.

I would say that the almost casual mentioning of characters treating kilts like everyday attire says how much Heinlein thought of them as a garment. Heinlein could have praised kilts, but instead only occasionally mentioned their usage.

In Methuselah's Children, the Proctors all wear blue(royal?) kilts. Also, Lazarus purchases a kilt measured to his size in maybe fifteen minutes.

Standard, I think inside of the kilt. (As per Rule #11, I am talking about location not weapons.)
