Well, I'd certainly be interested in some type of Xmarks shirt, should they ever become available.

I would be willing to design something at no cost and give it as a gift to XMarksTheScot. I did this for a forum called TeguTalk.com and I get nothing from it just the pleasure of my art being timeless and appreciated.

Cowher, the thing to do is to just DO IT. Look over your material and design a logo. Put it up here and say "Here's my X Marks logo".
Then ask Steve to make t-shirts out of it.
If you make two or three logos and ask for opinions, you will start a 500-post thread which will resolve nothing, annoy half the membership and leave you so confused that you don't know what to do.
If another artist has another idea, then they can post it and Steve can choose, or whatever. But don't TALK about it.
DO IT.
and see where the chips fall.

Cowher,
Thank you for your offer.
May I please ask a favor. Please send your ideas to me before posting to the forum. I ask this only because in the past when topics like this have come up and someone posts their idea it is soon followed by muliple, different ideas and pretty soon someone's feelings get hurt or we end up in a quagemire of too many ideas. (See the thread on an X Marks tie.)
I can then start a seperate thread to display your ideas to the membership.
We already have many accepted symbols of the forum. If you would like to offer your services to render these into digital files in Adobe Illustrator format I would be forever grateful. I can do this but am an expert by no means.

We are incapable of agreement...quaichs, ties, saltires...nothing. The only way we will have a shirt is if Steve makes up shirts and says "here's the X Marks shirt, they cost $XX"
So Steve, if you want a shirt, make one and sell it.
You are sooooooo right Alan H

I like the idea of a "clan" polo with the X-Marks badge. I may wear t-shirts from time-to-time but I prefer something a bit more put together. Has anyone ever thought of that?

I agree with Joshua - I like the idea of a dark coloured polo with a small logo on the left breast. It tends to look slightly more dressy and will look great accompanying almost any kilt in a wide variety of circumstances. You can always "dress down" a polo but it's very difficult to "dress up" a t-shirt.
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.

Like both
I like the idea of both. I tshirt for bumming around and a polo for a slightly more formal look. I would also like a hoodie/sweat shirt to wear when it is a little chilly.
A wide variety of tastes and wants is why I thought making a logo available to use would be best, but I understand the legalities of copyright and such prohibits that.
