I've kind of gone through some stages in my life. Years ago, trophy animals didn't bother me [probably never really gave them much thought] but as i've grown older trophies have kind of grown distasteful to me. This bearpaw sporran looks like a trophy to me. Now, I still eat meat and leather doesn't bother me as it is a byproduct of the cattle [food] industry...but bear, seal, bobcat [ie. not an industry]... these are not on most peoples daily menu and are not grown specifically for food. I won't wear something that was killed just so I could wear its pelt, paw or whatever. Also, I'm not suggesting that anyone else stop wearing anything they trully like, enjoy, or otherwise already own...I just couldn't see myself wearing this bearpaw sporran as a decoration.

On first sight, I was wondering if it's really from a grizzly or possibly from some strange African digging animal. Anyway, if from a grizzly I would have only thought to see such a thing as it was coming down on my neck, certainly not against my privates.
