American National Scot
My brother is getting married this summer. I will have the honour to make his kilt. I am trying to convince him to wear Argyll hose. Costs mount for the special couple on this occasion and if I can keep this expense under $100 I think he'll make the best decision. I'm looking for North American retail sources for National Scot Argyll hose. Can the rabble please provide me with some links?

Skye Highland Outfitters has a large range of different kilt hose and I think the Scottish tartans museum would also have them or R.P Blandford and Son. I'm not sure how much they cost though. If someone knits in your family that could be another option.
Anyway, I hope this helped a bit.

They can be had from Dunadd Trading Company for $129.73 (at today's exchange rate), which includes free worldwide shipping. (http://dunaddtradingcompany.co.uk/TartanHose.aspx)
I think you'll be hard pressed to find them for less, and Dunadd is a great company to deal with.
If that's too steep, at least go for the argyle top version: http://dunaddtradingcompany.co.uk/aboutus.aspx

Those are, I believe those would be the Argyll top hose which I don't think would be as nice for the groom as full Argyll.

One bit of advice, although it's pretty hit-or-miss, is to keep your eyes open when you go to a Highland Games or Fest. One of our Chicago Rabble members (who lives in Wisconsin, plays the pipes and shall remain nameless) came out of the vendors' tent at out local Games clutching a pair of Hunting Stewart hose and proclaiming that he just got them for $25. Guess there are bargains out there but you have to be lucky!

Found a seller on ebay who has a pair of tartan hose for sale for 60 pounds and also has another pair up for bid at 50 pounds. They look pretty snappy.
