In my opinion it kind of looks like a kilt that an American would have come up with. That is not a dig in anyway as I am proudly one myself. Just sort of strikes me as something we would do to a kilt. Give it the modern "upgrade". I think I love traditions too much to really appreciate something like this. But I can understand why others might really like it.

    Piglet,

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I think its really quite striking looking. I can think of places I'd wear it.

    Best regards,

It is interesting to view and discuss...not sure I could put it on.

I do like it when people experiment and create.

    Certainly not Wee Geordie

The basis of the 50's movie Wee Geordie was a Scottish shotputter - or hammer thrower - he was a highland games heavy events star - who wanted to fulfill his dad's dying wish and wear his Black Watch kilt in the opening ceremonies of the Melbourne Empire Games. A charming movie I recall - maybe it's on You Tube somewhere.

Not sure if this is progress or not. Someone young with spiky hair could carry this off though. Then again, Dress MacLeod makes some people feel the same way.
