Holy cow. I am beyond impressed. What an ambitious project to set yourself! It must feel amazing to gaze upon the final product!

Wow Doug,
I saw your project on the yahoo weaving group. I have wanted to do the same type of project myself. The only problem is my spinning is no where near as consistant as yours. It's nice to see the completed project. Something to truley be proud of !

That's a really fine kilt you've made yourself, and you've earned the admiration of several professional kiltmakers here. Congratulations all around.

Astonishing! I lived with someone who was president of her spinner's
guild, and was a competent weaver. I've not seen handspun yarn
that good. Usually flumpy, making for bumpy fabric.
Gorgeous work.

First, thank you all for the incredible messages and kudos. Sorry I've been off lists for a bit, while I've been learning a very complicated wardrobe/star dresser track on a Broadway show I just took over this last weekend, but I do appreciate your comments very much.
It is indeed pretty amazing to look at the kilt now and think of all that went into it. Feels a bit strange not to have it to come back to.
So, I'm considering working up an Argyll jacket of Herringbone tweed in a sort of Lovat Green/blue color in Shetland wool (?) and put my drum carder that gets little use to work and get the dyeing part done up front. Should be much faster, since I'll only need a couple yards of fabric, instead of 8!!
Best,
Doug

Here are a couple of quick pix, will post more/better, as time permits.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and kind words of encouragement, especially Barb T. for her advice and assistance, too.
