Horn Brogue Buckles???

I was just wondering what does the Rabble think about the idea of horn shoe buckles? I do a little horn work myself and though about giving it a try. Maybe in some black bison horn or I have some cream bull horn.

...I'd be worried about running my foot into something and cracking one of them, though.

I don't know. Isn't a black and shiny buckle on a black and shiny shoe, defeating the object of having buckles in the first place? Maybe the cream bull horn would work better. I think we need pictures of the shoes and the horns to give us a proper idea of the two colours together.
