I actually prefer to use canvas and elbow grease, but I don't have any canvas. The slicker actually works really well. I've gotten good results with it. I'm making a Herne-styled belt and ran the battery dead on my drill doing the bigger part of the belt! Never thought about a boar's tusk! Does it work well?

Tartan Hiker- you're very welcome. I would suggested working on scrap leather and practicing with the beveler before you do any work you want to keep. It's really easy to slip and dig a gouge across your project... or your pinkie finger...

    .

It does a pretty good job. I think I read about using it in Backwoodsman many years ago.
