Vegas Kilties?
Hey, been transfered again this time to Vegas-Baby. I see the meet and greet thread is kinda old and stale. Anyone out there to get together Monday to Thursday? I still drive home to Phx to see my love ones on the weekend.

I'm five hours away in Page. Get over to Las Vegas to see a lady friend from time to time. Probably gonna be a while until my health improves and would be a weekend when you're back in Phoenix.
Think the Las Vegas Tattoo and Highland Games are coming up on April 15 & 16 if you can stay over a weekend.

Thanks Ron, how is the Chemo going? My speciality is Radiation, but I hear from my patients about the Chemo cocktails stories.

Hopefully well, this stuff is supposed to do the trick in 5 days. The anti-nausea drugs worked....get to keep my hair. Good deal. Today's no fun, the one they warned me about when I'd feel hammered.
Radiation - you should try Hopi - where a good friend runs radiology....good times on the rez. There's a kilted guy there who teaches high school, named Mike. We've met and chatted. Whenever I'm on the Hopi kilted all the Hopi people say, "Hi Mike!."

Sorry you had the hammer, and it is great to hear about the hair. One good thing I tell my patients is this is not the time for diets eat, eat, eat, your body needs the strength. I don't think the Rez has Radiation, I believe everyone goes to Flagg for it.

Yes indeed there will be hundreds of kilts in Vegas over the weekend 15 16 17 April, myself included!
There will be the usual Games, at Floyd Lamb Park.
Usually the Massed Bands (pipe bands) comes over after the Games and marches down Fremont Street on Saturday night. Afterwards some of the top bands perform at various places along Freemont street and sometimes there's a "kitchenpiping" contest at one of the pubs.
This year there will also be a Tattoo at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday, at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Bands listed were the Scots Guards, the Vancouver Police, and the Winnipeg Police.
There will be a parade at noon on Friday.
One of the coolest things about the Vegas Games, for a piper, is that some top Grade One pipe bands usually make the trip, such as Simon Fraser University (British Columbia), who came to the Vegas Games last year while reigning World Champions.
Here's myself and some fellow pipers just after the march of the Massed Bands down Fremont Street a couple years ago (that's me with the Jumbo Soda... playing the pipes makes me thirsty!

I wore my kilt during my say in vegas over thanksgiving weekend. I went down to the casino to gamble after my wife went to the room. She got worried and called security to find the guy in the kilt and send him back to his room. 4 hours and they never found me. But I had more fun than a barrell of monkeys. Got 3 room keys and 2 drinks from women. Ahhh.....The Power of the Kilt.
