How did you fasten it to the kilt?
It is a vacuum tube (35EH5). I got the pin in the craft section of Jo Ann Fabric store. Came in a package of ten. The description is pin back 1 1/2" nickel. Jewelry Designer 1913-54. The pin has a flat back. I used JB Weld epoxy to glue the pin onto the glass. I am considering putting a band of some type around the tube and the pin back just incase the epoxy should break free of the glass. Pictures below of the mount:

original XMTS Pin, and some of my more random ones;

Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

I have never seen a pin/broach worn like this. Very nice and unique. I like it. I guess you have given me options. I wonder what the history here is.
I think I'll have to look for a broach to wear on the above center of my kilt.

This little pin is mounted with Serpentine from The Lizard (info) and brings back wonderful memories for me. One of these days Bob and I will visit the UK together!

Pins 20 & 21
Went shopping again last week at the great auction house on the web and picked up these two brass pin brooches from different sellers. They are quite small and I think they work better together. Not such a bargin either when you tot up the overall cost of both but hey, that's not the point.
They are pictured here resting on my Ancient Oliver and are not attached to a Kilt yet.

Being a girl, l I have always LOVED jewellery so I am loving these and couldn't begin to say my favourites very quickly.
Uh, English Bloke...you know that is a cat pin don't you? I imagine you eye it all of the time lest it creep higher and kill you as you think that is a cat's intent. (: Hm...maybe this is some of that therapy where one is gently exposed to their fears, like rubberised cotton...maybe you are as incredibly brave as suspected!
I love my poppy wreath pin - it was a gift- (oh and so was-drumroll...MY FIRST KILT)! but it stands for life, gift of flowers, remembering all that have been victims, being brought back to life, and a never-ending friendship.
Anywhoo, it has been lovely looking at all of my "brothers" jewellery collections. (giggle)
