Versatile weathered tartan

Hello, All.
Recently, I posted photos of my new Weathered MacLeod of Harris Tank from reid Kilts. It was in polo shirt and casual mode....

I thought you might like to see how it looks with both black and brown accessories;

It alao works well for my drum majoring.

I was surpried at how well a bottle green jacket and waistcoat works with the weathered tartan, along with brown accessories.

.....and it also is great with the formal sporran, bonnet & Mace!

I'm just so tickled with my new tank, I just wanted to share. Hope you like the pics.

Sigh, sigh and sigh again!

If I was to order another kilt, which I am not, NO I AM NOT, NO REALLY I AM NOT. That is the one I could go for and still stay within my one tartan mindset. Oh heck, I had better go and have a walk in the rain!

Thanks. I should note that I have a pair of light grey hand-knit hose on order from Rocky at USA Kilts, and am scraping together the sheckles for several more colors, such as medium brown, claret, and possibly Lovat blue.
I confess I still like the aran hand-knit hose I'm wearing in the photos, even though they'rer off-white!

I do so like the weathered tartans and you look so good in the pics. I have noticed that self coloured weathered flashes are now available, both in the grey blue and brown. They look good and I have then for my weathered Leslie kilt.

That looks great! The red and yellow stripes really "pop" depending on the rest of the outfit.

I chose weathered for my tank as well. No regrets! It is truely a versatile option for a tartan.

Weathered tartans go well in almost any setting. I especially like the look of the green jacket and waistcoat, very sharp!

I, too, like the nuetral colors of weathered tartans. I have often admired the grey and brown shading as I make kilts for others. After a while I decided to have some cloth woven in my own clan tartan, Armstrong, in the weathered/reproduction shades.

A friend who is active in the Clan Armstrong society saw me in this kilt and commissioned me for two kilts in the same tartan (one for him, one for his nephew) plus several meters of additional cloth.
