    Question Guiness milk shake

Have not tried this yet but sounds tasty.
place 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a blender, let soften first for about ten minutes.
add 12 ounces of Guinness ( Draught or Stout as preferred) pour slowly to avoid too much foam.
blend until smooth. If too watery add more ice cream, if too thick add more Guinness.
pour into serving glasses, this make about 2 16 ounce drinks.
    enjoy.

This sounds interesting. I just put 4 cases of Guinness in the fridge this past weekend. I'll have to give it a try.

    Yee Gods! Never!

If you want a beer, drink Guinness! If you want an ice cream don't go to the Pub. By the way, have you ever tried a Vodka Paralyser?

No thanks. Tried it many moons ago. Did not like it. To each his own, but I have to agree with English Bloke.

Not a milkshake, but at the Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh I had a sundae consisting of malted ice cream and a lager based sauce. Quite good. Other food was good as well. As were the beverages. I would recommend it if you happen to be in the area.

When I lived in the area, the Firehouse Brewery in Rapid City, SD used to do what they called a "Stout Shake" which was made with unfermented wort and ice cream. On a 40C day, it was a good spine stiffener before the vicissitudes of the day.

Reminds me of John Steinbeck, but I can't remember if it was Cannery Row or Travels with Charlie where they made a beer milkshake. No one liked it then, either.

I live about 100 miles from RC and was at the Firehouse on St. Paddy's. They still have it on the menu. Haven't tried that one.

I'd like to note that, as some of us grow older, our capacity for the digestion of milk products sort of diminishes....

Fortunately, my capacity for Guinness digestion remains as keen as it ever was.
