about the belt...
I was getting ready to have Tobus make me a belt like this...I told my wife I was going to pull the trigger and she got upset...couldn't figure out why, then she told me she'd bought a gift certificate at a local leather craft store for me... so I had them make the belt. Next belt will be similar, but black, It will have celtic knot buckles... 2 of them, one on the right the other on the left for symmetry's sake...dress sporran will hang off belt in the same fashion.

Looks like it's three inches wide. Is that correct?

I'm half tempted to make one for myself, as money allows. I'd have to make my own 2.5 at the widest, though. 3 inches is uncomfortable on my frame. So I would have to use 1 inch straps... I may have to start working up a price for all this! I want one! Tandy Leather actually has a 1 inch Celtic buckle set, too. Hmm...
***EDIT*** Well, it would cost me about $65 to make one. That's not too bad. Now if I can make a little extra money in the next couple weeks, I may have to do it!

belt specs
If I remember correctly the brass buckles on this belt are 3/4" even with a 3" belt the 1 inch buckles were too close together. I believe expermentation will show what works. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Edit: I just remeasured the buckles...they are 1"...it must have been the 1 and 1/2 inch buckles that were too big.

Reason: remeasured buckles

Heck yeah! Would be great if you off-centered the belt and...There's a posting concerning off center sporrans that brings this up, in the modern section I think.

What was that you said about me having a good eye? Actually, I was just doing mental calculation on what would look proportionate and sturdy...
