Hello from Oregon
Hey all, I'm Matt. I'm not as familiar with my lineage as I should be, but as far as I am told, I'm Macgregor-related, from fairly recent immigrants (great grandparents, I'm told.) As such, I've kept my studies of Scottish and kilt culture fairly broad. My main reason for being so interested in kilts is to be an 18th century "'45" Jacobite reenactor. I'm also thinking about getting married in a Macgregor tartan kilt. My only regret is that living in a small town in Oregon, I don't have many opportunities (aside from the occasional Renaissance festival) to actually wear one. So I think I'm just going to don a great kilt every now and then and be a bit of a fashion rebel. I'm looking forward to sharing my research with this awesome community.

Welcome to the forum.
I understand the small town atmosphere, we moved from the San Francisco bay area to outside a small town. We just did the towns' first Burns Dinner. The only people in the kilts were the piper and myself. Although, next year should see more kilts.
