I have to thank the OP, Shuteye, for bringing this movie, which finally came out on DVD here in the frozen north, to my attention. I thought things had really changed when the hill folk switched from 'shine and started growing pot- glad I'm missing out on the latest developments as shown in this film. Four stars for a compelling motion picture.

It should be stressed that this is about an extended rural clan with a criminal tradition, whereas a far greater number of hill folk right up through Canada are rather boringly devout Christians who won't even attend a dance.
