My first kilt was a Sport Kilt. After getting a USAKilt (made to measure Casual), I traded-in my Sport Kilt, under Rocky's Cash for Clunker Kilts, and ordered TWO more of USAKilt Casuals. Can't beat 'em. That's the way to go.

    My dear
Since you have already ordered and paid for it, wait and see...expect what you wanted. If everybody is happy than we at Xmarks have a new kilt making site to check out.
If you are not happy and you need backup for complaints in the form of "bad press" for this company, we will be here for you.

Hehe. We'll see what happens in May, as that's when it was promised. But I am looking into the Sport Kilts and USA Kilts. Irish National and German Heritage tartans are calling my name... now, if I could find an Italian and Ukrainian National tartan, I'd be set. ^_^

Well, Rocky at USAK used to have an Italian American tartan...maybe it's still available. You'd have to email or call him.

    Angry Frauds and ripoffs...

I am sooooooo glad you asked!!! DO NOT USE THIS MAKER... they are Frauds and Ripoffs.... I bought (or so I thought....well let me rephrase that...I paid for) a Wallace Kilt from these frauds at the Kalamazoo Scottish Festival in 2009... I paid for a hand stitched 8yd kilt (over $750.00 on my credit card was billed in Nov 2009) that was supposed to be delivered by February of 2010. They supposedly had a fire (Feb 04, 2010) in their vehicle that destroyed most of their 'records':

    "SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Kilts 'n More has suffered a catastrophic fire in the early morning of Feb. 4, 2010 on their way to the Hogge Town Medieval Fair in Gainesville, FL.

Neil, Terry and Duane are ok and Duane is out of the hospital as of Feb. 8, 2010. Our computers, order books, and a lot of other stuff were in the Van fire, but we have some hard copies of orders that were not in the fire. If you have an open order pending please contact us ASAP so we can confirm your order information.
    Call us (314) 973-5458
    or
    e-mail us: Sales@kiltsnmore.com"

I first emailed...and then called them when they did not answer my email...I left several messages...I finally caught up to them when they were back through in July 2010 at the Silver Leaf Ren Faire in Kalamazoo, MI and got remeasured...when asked, I was assured it would be at my house "by the holidays"... around Dec 10 of 2010, I called to check on the 'status' of my order...I got a callback telling me they were behind and it would be about 2 weeks.... after the first of the year in 2011, I again called...several times and got no answers or callbacks....finally I reached someone in mid February of 2011, and they again gave me the 2 week thing... it is now March 29th 2011 and I have no kilt...have not been called nor contacted by these bums and ripoffs...

I'm intrigued because I'm considering getting a SK and the pictures looked fine to me. Are you saying they're NOT as good as the pics or are they even BETTER?

I want a "sport" kilt, not one for classy events. One for working a beer festival where I'll get beer spilled on me, set up tents, haul beer kegs, haul ice, basically "work" in the kilt in the heat of the summer -- bit, look good doing it.

To the OP: what exactly are you trying to buy? You mentioned "kilt skirt" - that appears to be an oxymoron. You also stated you want a mini skirt with a tartan design. Are you aware that a mini skirt is NOT a kilt? I'm not trying to be a smarty pants or sarcastic. I'm genuinely asking. Are you female and are actually looking for a skirt? Are you male and desiring a kilt? please elaborate so we can help.
I'll answer the question for you. I have two sport kilts and they are good for what you are talking about (keg work) and for working out but they are pretty light so if fly up would be an issue wear shorts under.

I'd been wanting a mini skirt in an Irish tartan for a few years now, and this year I went ahead and ordered one from Kilts 'n' More since they are always at the local Ren Fest down here.

My choices in tartan came down to Murphy (family name on the Irish side), Fermanagh, or Westmeath (according to the kilt maker's Irish surname book, the other Irish name could go either way with the two county tartans). I went with Fermanagh, as I'm a fan of blue, though perhaps in the future I'll get a Tara one. :-)

So, my question is, has anyone around here used this vendor? Thoughts? Good, bad, indifferent?

    Thanks much!
The photos and the descriptions from others here give me pause about this vendor. I guess you'll just have to wait and find out for your self if they are any good as your order is already placed.

    Confusing Two Companies?

Those provide a great chance to dress up without breaking the bank, especially when one just starts wearing kilts and is unfamiliar with the options out there.

For having beer dumped on you, they have a bargain basement version which might work.
Are you perhaps confusing Sport Kilt and Stillwater Kilts?
