A warm Scottish welcome from middle England!
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

My gosh, someone else from Dayton, Ohio. Welcome to the group. With a growing number in the Dayton area we should have enough of us to hold a good kilt night somewhere in town. So far the kilt nights I have attended have been in Cincinnati or Columbus. I am located in the Centerville area and wear a kilt about 50% of the time.

Welcome, from another Buckeye! I'm north of you, up near Cleveland.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Certainly didn't expect to hear from several nearby neighbors, but guess that is just a show of the draw to be associated with like minded (or at least like attired) others. Certainly would be interested in attending a local kilt night, or atleast learning of some more activities going on between Cincy and Columbus. I have a future brother-in-law currently living near Columbus whom could probably be convinced to take part in some events as well.

Those events are posted here on the forum so check back often. As we get into warmer weather there are several Celtic events worth attending so mark them on the calendar. I am only listing two as they are the ones I attend: May 14 (Saturday), Kentucky Scottish Weekend, Carrollton, KY. Around a 90 minute drive from Dayton. I may have to miss this year because of work getting in the way. In July (29-31) is the Dayton Celtic fest. Lots of good music and it is free downtown at Riverscape. I plan on going all three days. There are two good Irish bands based out of Dayton (members wear kilts): 1.) Dulahan, 2.) Father, Sons, and Friends. They have web sites and list their local appearances.
