I've tried some meads, but have had little success. The best was a cyser (apple cider + honey) that came out as a nice apple wine. I've been focusing more on homebrewing beer lately and I made a nice roasty stout back in February. If you find a recipe that works well for a small sample batch of mead, please let me know.
