Another cute guy in a kilt *sigh*
That is very impressive and innovative work. In the shots of the kilt laid flat, you can't tell its relative size until your hand enters the picture -- well done!
My only concern with a grouping of "kids in kilts" threads is anonymity. . . you don't want to advertise too widely over the Net that you have a cute kid in such-and-such a town, with other clues that might lead unwanted attention to your door. Hate to bring up the topic but it's a sad reality these days.

Unfortunately, Sydnie, you're probably right. That's one good reason to float ideas in the forum. They may work and they may not and we get all sorts of feedback on them.
Doesn't change the fact that Miles and Carter are adorable in their kilts, though. And it's also good to see kids who will be so used to wearing kilts that they won't think it's strange when they're older. In fact, they may think it's weird that their friends never wear them!
Regards,
Brian

I wish!! I'd gladly take on the job but the wife might not take kindly to it.

I don't know, Allen, a tartan belt like that might be way too small for your manly hands to work with. That thing looks like it must be smaller than Miles' kilt
I know a young woman who works at the TK a half hour or so from here but as I've never been there I've never seen her undres...er...dressed like this. My boss went with his brother-in-law, nephew and sons once and ended up feeling like a dirty old man when one of his niece's best friends was their waitress. The boys, however, were thrilled

I have a neck tie that probably uses more material. Maybe I'll make one of those for the Ol Lady.

Soon I hope. I will use better materials on the next one. I might make it slighly big too considering he will probably outgrow this one in a month...two at best. One nice thing was that I spent a total of seven bucks on this. Three bucks was in velcro! I'm sure it can be done for less than ten even without thread and elastic laying around from prior projects. If I fail to get a nice tartan for the next one I night do a saffron kilt. We'll see.

That's a beautiful kilt and an adorable little boy. As long as your making them for under 10$ who cares that he will out grow them in a months.

Great job!
I made a wee Kilt for the ring-bearer at my brother's wedding but there was no diaper to work around. The elastic was a great idea!
I read somewhere I thought that back in the day, young men didn't pleat the kilts, they were wore more like a true skirt or even tunics. But you have to admit that little man looks great in his pleats!!
