Cheviot Tweed & Isle of Sky Tartan

We were pondering on what would be nice for a lady to wear, using tartan.
Many ladies do not like tartan skirts for different reasons. Sashes are... well are just sashes...
A nice little ladies tartan waistcoat ? Yes, sure !
Obviously, it seems that men are always the great winners when it comes to tartan.

Chrystel isn't very tall, nor slim; she went through a few pregnancies and is over forty.
Yet she wanted to look great in tartan. This is what she came up with:

The tartan is Isle of Sky; the tweed is a gorgeous Cheviot Pheasant Tweed from Marton Mills.

Just imagine this jacket with YOUR tartan...

The collar is inspired from what Tim Burton's Alice is wearing at the end of the film.

...a few more photos of the actual making:

    Wow. I love it!
If you were in New York right now you could be wearing that for the "Dressed to kilt" fashion show.
    It is beautiful and fun.

When a Tartan Day Plaid is added to the jacket, the back gets even more interesting ...
