I recently had to replace the buckles on a kilt by another maker for a client of mine, and I confess to being a little curious about the construction of it, after all there are lots of perfectly good ways of sewing a kilt and they are not all the same.
When I looked at the interlining I was a little surprised. For a kilt that was custom made one and not inexpensive it seems rather poorly built on the inside.
I often think that I might put into too many padding stitches on the hair canvas, but at least I am sure that the inside of the kilt is secure and firm.
